About Raven and Vashon Island Professionals

Raven Pyle-McCrackyn is both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and an Enrolled Agent, a rare find in a complex industry she has successfully navigated in her 25-year career. Raven started working in the financial industry in 1992 as a stock broker then went into investment management and then tax preparation. What she discovered over the years is that many of her tax clients wanted financial advice from her because they trusted her. That was the main reason she earned her CFP® designation, so that she is certified to answer the array of financial questions she is asked by the hundreds of islanders she has prepared taxes for over the years.

About Temple, Enrolled Agent

Temple Parker has experience in many facets of accounting, such as fixed assets, construction accounting, cost accounting and tax preparation. She started in the non-profit and government sector of accounting and eventually branched out into small business financial development. Temple enjoys helping clients reach their goals, and she has many development and growth ideas to offer you. She has earned the Enrolled Agent designation from the IRS, is certified as a Registered Tax Planner and has obtained the QuickBooks Online Certification.

About Alanna, Enrolled Agent

Alanna Koffman is Vashon Island Professionals’ seasonal staff tax preparer. She comes to VIP with a combined 24+ years of experience in accounting and taxes. Alanna earned her professional license as an Enrolled Agent through the IRS five years ago. Her specialty is individuals and small businesses. In addition to her extensive background in tax, Alanna also assists clients in resolving their tax issues and is in the process of earning her certification as a tax resolution specialist.

About Enrolled Agents

Raven, Temple and Alanna have earned the highest credential the IRS issues. As Enrolled Agents, they are tax experts who specialize in taxation and have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. An Enrolled Agent must pass a three-part exam covering individual and business tax returns and representation, as well as a background check. As members of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, they are also required to complete many hours of continuing education each year to be up-to-date on the tax codes. If you get a letter from the IRS or are audited, we can speak directly to the IRS on your behalf.

About CFP®

A certified CFP® professional, like Raven, must master nearly 100 integrated financial planning topics. CFP® candidates must pass a six-hour comprehensive exam that tests their ability to apply financial planning knowledge. Also, a CFP® is required to complete continuing education coursework and a CFP® Board approved code of ethics course.

Now as a Registered Tax Planner, Temple can be more proactive for VIP clients and offer tax advantage strategies throughout the year. As your planner, she will determine what the best scenario looks like for you to reach your goals from a tax perspective.
